Vehicle Access
Book via Voyage Control. Enter at Sandstone Lane. Fixed unload times by vehicle size.
Height Limits
Build up to 6m. Over 4m requires structural engineer sign-off.

Electrical and hardwired internet are expensive. Know your wattage requirements.
Vehicle Access & Load-In
All traffic must enter via traffic marshals on Sandstone Lane. Since 2025, Excel uses Voyage Control — an online booking system for vehicle access.

- 2Book a time slot for your vehicle (event organisers often issue passwords ~1 month before build-up)
- 3Present to traffic marshals on Sandstone Lane
- 4You'll be directed to north or south loading bays

Tip: A trolley is recommended. Exhibition aisles get very crowded during build-up, so the ability to move your goods efficiently is important.
Venue Considerations
Flooring
Excel floors are not carpeted. If you're building your own stand, you'll need to cover the floor yourself.
Stand Height
You can build up to 6m, but anything over 4m will require drawings to be signed off by a structural engineer. This is arranged through the appointed stand review company (fee applies).
Power & Internet
As with all UK venues, electrical connections and hardwired internet are expensive. Knowing your equipment's wattage draw in advance can save considerable costs.
Excel vs NEC
Both venues are located outside their respective city centres, with onsite facilities for food and accommodation, and good transport links.
The key differences: NEC has better vehicle parking and is a larger site overall with more exhibition halls and concurrent events. Excel is more compact and well-connected to central London via the Elizabeth line.
